Dont try to 'claim' a customer. When a friend quit selling machinery I got handed off to his replacement, and have a personality clash. Every time I try and talk to the other salesman he calls me in a tither. (Doesnt help that 2 deals in a row he lied to my face and denied doing so when called out on it)
I will say in my experience Deere has consistantly the best sales department. All my deals with deere go pretty smooth, they have a way of making you feel like they actually care about your business and are happy you bought from them. Not much green around here just fyi, I'm too 'thrifty' (and think they build a turd of a combine but that's a whole other thread haha) Sadly, the more I deal with them the more I see why some guys just run green and dont even shop around.
