Long term everything goes up. The real question is how are you going to weather the storm to get to the other side. The days when dad could take a night shift at the factory and mom could take in some washing to hold onto the farm through hard times are long gone. Without the programs and subsidies, a small farm could burn 5 years of wages from a good job in a year. And that assumes you can still get a good job.
