What's the end result for land values if we have a major economic crisis? Land is an inflation hedge. But if there is hyperinflation I don't see how land prices would keep up if land buyers have high interest rates on loans. Will investors/REITs be active in buying land after stock market major selloff and treasuries/CDs paying double digits?
What would cause land prices to fall off the cliff?
I'm getting worried.
Pretty simple- two things really- Crop income and interest rates.
Take away all the climate change demand, meaning the RFA, SAF, windmills, solar panels, etc. and crop prices have to stand on their own two feet, or really 4 hooves. If the government does finally admit we are beyond broke, poor, all the tax subsides will have to be gone.
The US cratering will bring the entire global economy to crawl, so there goes your exports. Interest rates? Hard to say.
All I know is a lot of very smart people are saying our government spending is absolutely unsustainable, but what that means, hell if I know.
