If you have a good idea on your cost of production and the current prices offer you
some profit sell some now as a starting point. We like HTAs (hedge to arrive). Basically
you are selling a futures contract through a coop or E-plant but you don't have to worry
about margin calls. Homeland Energy Solutions are offering no fee HTAs currently.
Some coops charge a small upfront fee of 2-3 cents/bu. By selling through IAS coop
we can set our basis and destination later.

If you are in an area where there is a good basis just sell a straight forward cash contract.

Keep it simple to start out.
