Subject: What works about every time it's tried...

Get out of the way of the small/med size businesses. Reduce/eliminate anticompetitive regulation and viola a whole bunch of businesses start thriving and generating tax dollars. At times this can dwarf the run away spending, but not for long - never underestimate the spending capability of a legislator or bureaucrat. JFK, Reagan and even our buddy Trump did this to great effect regardless of what pompous commentators and life long bureaucrats said.

Of course the spending has to stop but the people that would do it are all in deep with insider trading and promises of corporate positions. It's not in their best interest.

However, the current direction of domestic policy is geared toward very large business and some sort of gov't income for everyone else. They have not accomplished it yet, but when there is economic freedom that is prospering the country, it's the first thing that gets axed every time. Must not fit.
