the more you heat on the tank the more stress you will interduce in the tank wall if you are worried about cracking cut a reinforcing plate ( big round washer ) weld on after leak testing tank a competent welder can do all this with 3/32 316 rod don't let them scare you with it is some Exotic prosses the thing that will help a novias is turn tank so it is up and as flat as possible that is were welding on the inside may help use lots of ventilation interring and especially heating a tank , please!!
