Eastern NE KS | Years ago, Dad and I had a wowzer. She eventually lost a whole hoof to a hard freeze at birth. We put her on feed and surprisingly, she developed a leather sole on her stump but failed to thrive for the duration. At about 7-800 she just stalled. She became hamburg for our freezer by adding trimmed beef fat bought from the butcher.
It was nice to see her go. Feeding her was depressing toward the end. | |
