Subject: RE: hydraulic flow switch reliability

NW KS
I have a couple of systems that have a pressure transducter in them. The switch that I am looking at would be somewhat similar to a visual flow indicator. The moving hydraulic oil pushes a piston or spool a certain amount of distance. I suppose both a pressure based sensor and a flow based sensor are similar in concept but the flow based sensor most likely uses larger moving parts since the oil has to move the sensor but still flow from inlet to outlet. I'll have to do some more checking with a pressure guage and see if the is any place a pressure based sensor would work.
