I have not worked on that particular setup. I’ve done AFS Connect Magnums and it all worked fine.
The old Ontrac 2 would struggle in a similar fashion to what you are describing. I could usually tame those down by lowering the antenna height setting. Not moving the antenna, but cut the height measurement in half. Might be worth a try.
