Just pondering about this especially with all the thousands of " tv channels " and social media entertainment options
Today I could care less about any particular program

I flip channels. Nothing that is supposed to be funny , isn't
Seems like actors truly cannot act.

At 64 yrs old I still find myself viewing the old b/w Andy Griffith reruns with Andy, Barney, Floyd, Opie, Aunt Bea and the rest. Truly good wholesome acting and entertainment. Each episode contained an important life lesson, too. Heck, I've seen them a " ga- zillion" times. But I truly enjoy them

I will say that I also enjoy Everybody Loves Raymond. Great cast of characters and funny. But even those go back twenty five yrs ago or so

Is there anything on today, programming- wise, that comes close to these mentioned here?

Nope. Nothing could beat Carrol Burnett reruns. Or I should say Tim Conway and Harvey Corman. Just funny guys! Archie Bunker also. I surprised they can even show reruns nowadays.

I’ve always liked Harvey since he was in Blazing Saddles. I didn’t really like Tim’s comedy style when I was younger but the older I get, he kinda sneaks up on me. He makes me laugh every time I watch him now.
