Half mile of continuous might get spendy! I would think a well maintained high tensile with plenty of wires and a hot fencer would work well. Might take a couple days to get calves trained but be fine after that. Not a huge high tensile person but will say it’ll withstand some snow drifts better than most other stuff from my experience.
