So what's the story? Started construction a few years ago when packers were "stealing" cattle? Put up with a govt grant?
Severely undercapitalized and run on a shoe string budget from the word go while seeing the cost of goods purchased (cattle) and interest rates go up substantially?
A 40-50 head/day plant was doomed for failure from the start. Too big and not big enough at the same time.
That size plant can work great if you have connections with a regional grocery chain. But there aren’t many of those left and you still have stiff competition from the big players.
