I would think last year pretty much proved to any doubters of how beneficial a dry spring is to raising a good crop of corn and soybeans. Unbelievable how well the crops held up to the dry summer and have never seen that happen on years with our usual wet spring. Torrential rains in the spring on freshly planted crops not emerged and smaller crops are never a good thing and seem to always have a negative effect on yield. Could still be a good crop but the excess rainfall is definitely taking the cream off of what was looking like a perfect spring up until 2 weeks ago.
