Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | In your original post you mention the power for the ball valves on Pin 16 versus Pin 14. This is very common when using a Raven harness.
Originally before ball valves there was no need for a constant power source for the old solenoid valves. Later when ball valves became available, a constant hot wire was needed which was often just another red wire taped on the side.
When more sections were needed Raven went with a 16 pin connector at the disconnect point between the tractor and the implement. That connector had space for putting the flow meter, section triggers, power and ground all in one connection. At first they used Pin 16 since that is power on the console end. Later they switched to pin 14 which is switched power (only hot with the power switch ON).
Your problem was mismatch between using Pin 14 or Pin 16. Either is fine as long as both are the same.
With a new install from scratch, no Raven wiring would be involved and the ball valves get their power/ground from the High Current branch that feeds the spray module. With your setup you were trying to reuse some of the Raven wiring which lead to the confusion. |
