NW MN
You will be fine as long as you mount the SCM in the same orientation on the SxS as an existing machine, and you use the existing machine profile.

You won’t get the SCM to calibrate to a new profile without steering hardware attached.

I just simulated this in one of my SteadySteer equipped tractors. I unplugged the MDU, turned the system on, and drove far enough for the steering system to initialize.

I have good GPS and terrain compensation working with the SCM. I know it is terrain compensated because when a steering system is selected, the display only looks for GPS data from the selected steering controller. I can create guidance patterns and boundaries.
