Minnesota | I agree with this statement by 555. I took some in 19 and I would do it again if the situation would ever arise. The ground I planted In June that year was way worse off than the PP I took. I would actually argue that a year of cover crops would be good for the ground at least it appeared to be in my case.
Edit to add, do not discount the risk of carrying a terrible yield on your APH for the next 10 years. It’s painful to see it there and the effects of the APH. No guarantees it will be a bad yield but there’s a reason the RMA has things set up the way they do…it’s all about odds.
