Subject: This sums up how planting is going

NW Indiana
The below picture pretty much sums up how planting is going, kind of the screw it lets do it anyway attitude seems to be the theme for many. Amazing how prior to the March planting intentions report there was almost zero hope left for the markets for the foreseeable future, $3.50 corn was almost a guarantee come fall. Corn acres come in light to start things off. Just in the last few weeks lots of things have changed to give the grains the possibility of some life. Argentina having significant problems with corn leafhopper. Brazil having major flooding in its second highest producing Safrinha corn state along with 1/3 of the soybeans still in the field. Mato Grasso getting dry the last couple weeks. Russia having dryness concerns. Kansas wheat crop struggling. US planting having issues. I'll use JP's analogy of a shipping turning, the bow is turning but it might take a bit to get the rest of the boat to follow.
