NE Indiana | No heat. As long as it's just tweaked a little a very big press will straighten them. If its bent really bad probably best to get a new one. I would straighten some when I worked at a truck and frame repair place. I think it was an 80 or 100 ton press that we used. If they were severely bent the pressure would start dropping pretty dramatically once you got past straight (had to go past straight so once it rebounds its correct) But once that pressure drops a bunch the fork will no longer be strong and will bend again rather easily. These were always great big forks not like skid loader sized forks. Mainly because press hours were billed double the shop rate with a 2-hour minimum so it was cheaper to buy a new fork if they were smaller. Also, if it's too close to the 90-degree area it will be almost impossible to straighten. | |
