They made awesome chain saws.

Mine are older, some of the new saws look a bit overly complex. I guess once you get near perfect the engineers need to add extra junk to keep their jobs, and marketing approves because new features mean new sales…. At least for a while.

Their string trimmers are barely average. Blah. We got one and it just wasn’t worth fiddling with. I think it had some sort of easy start feature, I always had to start it wife couldn’t get it going. Hard starting, didn’t idle well, and had the same carb problems you have.

We got an early cheap no name battery trimmer, wife liked it better because she could use it, even if it didn’t run long, was weak, and was heavy for what it was. At least it worked.

The newer name brand battery trimmers are pretty good, if you get into any of the main tool battery platforms their string trimmer will likely do pretty good.

Hand and portable landscaping tools is a place the battery technology has really caught up to or passed the old stuff.
