With inflation at 3.5% so far in 2024 and a cd rare of 4% annual (1%/quarter) is it really any better? If a person spent the money after cashing out it seems like they'd have broke even compared to today's prices. Brokers look at the price and it seems great but there's more to the story. The 35cent gain in beans is 3% give or take. That doesn't even match inflation you're buying .5% less goods with the same bushels of beans.
