NE Iowa | Just a reminder to be safe out there today… weird things can happen at any time. I was putting in a round bale this morning. Bale was misshapen and pretty loose, but I grabbed it on the flat side for stability. Put it in the air above the feeder, locked the skidloader arms, and hopped out to cut the net wrap. As I was bent over mid pull on the wrap, part of the bale came off and knocked me to my knees, followed by the rest of the bale which laid me flat and knocked the wind outta me but rolled off as quickly as it came. I’m thinking the first bit that came off formed a ramp that redirected the second wave. Could’ve been a really bad day. Stay alert out there… complacency kills. | |
