edit to add. our house is ceramic tiled and grouted under the bath room cabinets.
all kitchen cabinets are raised up on 3/8 plywood to allow the floating vinyl plank  to be at the same level.....dishwasher fit is the reason.
finished the floor all the way into the dishwasher opening and sealed with silicone, WHEN the dishwasher develops a leak
my socks will get wet----- not the subfloor or the down stairs ceiling.
