I've used the attention-getting tag above for years to alert AgTalk users to issues that affect this site.
AgTalk provides two boards where farmers can buy or sell. On both, For Sale and Wanted, we have a posting policy in a sticky thread at the top. That policy is as follows:
AgTalk provides this board free of charge to AgTalk users. We do ask that you observe a few basic rules.
- Non-commercial use. This board is intended for farmer-to-farmer transactions only. Posts that are determined to be commercial in nature will be removed and dealers who persist may be blocked.
- Security. AgTalk cannot verify the identity of third parties. Determining the legitimacy of a buyer or seller is your responsibility.
- Contact information. To prevent lengthy threads on this board, replies are disabled. So be sure to provide valid contact information in your message or in your user profile. Your ad will not be successful if others cannot reach you.
- Descriptive titles. The more information you put in your message title, the more likely your success. Readers usually skip over titles that simply say WTB, for example.
- Edit. If you are successful, edit your title. Add "- SOLD" to your message title, for example.
